Commonweal: Arch. 1. (Properly two words.) Common well-being; esp. the general good, public welfare, prosperity of the community. 2. The whole body of the people, the body politic; a state, community. = COMMONWEALTH 2.
An occasional commonplace book and journal to focus on the struggle for an inclusive and progressive discourse. Will focus on developing tools and strategies for encouraging a society in which the voices of all are heard and the needs of all are met. Will draw from and reflect upon: my work teaching Composition and Cultural/Ethnic Studies at a small college in rural Ohio; my research in American Culture/History, especially in regards to race in the U.S. South; and my experiences with and observations of public and political discourses.
